About Short Car Leases
Short Car Leases is a trading name of Cocoon Vehicles Limited, an FCA-authorised leasing company founded in 2007 and registered in Belper, Derbyshire. It provides cars and vans on agreements from one to 24 months, with vehicles prepared in Derby, York and Leeds and delivered anywhere on mainland Britain.
Three formats are offered: fixed short leases of 3 to 24 months, flexible leases with a three-month minimum that then continue until you give notice, and rolling monthly subscriptions after a short initial commitment (some vehicles from one month). Vans are mainly on 6- or 12-month contracts. Customers include private drivers, businesses and fleets, start-ups, expats, overseas directors and parent companies, and employees using electric-car salary sacrifice. Non-status leasing is also available.
The monthly price covers road tax, remaining manufacturer warranty, roadside recovery and delivery and collection. Servicing and ordinary-use repairs are included on subscriptions and flexible leases but are an extra on fixed leases. Insurance, fuel or charging, congestion and emissions charges, fines and damage beyond fair wear are your responsibility. Example mileage allowances run from roughly 833 to 1,600 miles a month, with excess charged at the quoted rate. Hand-back notice is five working days, and in-stock vehicles typically arrive within three to five working days of payment clearing.
