About Jaecoo

Jaecoo is a relatively young brand created by Chinese car maker Chery, one of China's largest vehicle exporters, which was founded in 1997 and is based in Wuhu. Jaecoo was introduced in 2023 to sell SUVs with a more rugged, upmarket image than Chery's mainstream models, and it is closely linked to its sister brand Omoda. Its cars are aimed at buyers who want an SUV with an outdoor, adventurous look.

Jaecoo launched in the UK in early 2025 with the Jaecoo 7, a family SUV that quickly became one of the country's more popular new-car choices, helped by its plug-in hybrid version. The range has since grown to include the smaller Jaecoo 5, offered with petrol power or as the fully electric E5, and the larger Jaecoo 8. The brand focuses on value, high equipment levels and long warranties. Like Omoda, Jaecoo is sold through a UK dealer network managed by Chery International UK, and both brands have grown quickly since their launch here.

Jaecoo on a car subscription

Because Jaecoo is new to the UK, a subscription is a sensible way to try one before committing to buy. The Jaecoo 7 plug-in hybrid suits drivers who want electric running for shorter trips with a petrol engine for longer ones, while the E5 offers a fully electric option with low Benefit-in-Kind tax for company car users. Check the real-world range, how regularly you can charge, the mileage allowance and how servicing is arranged.
