About Citroen
André Citroën founded the company in 1919, applying mass-production methods he had seen in the United States. The brand soon became known for innovation: the Traction Avant of 1934 popularised front-wheel drive, the 2CV of 1948 put rural France on wheels, and the DS of 1955 introduced hydropneumatic suspension and a strikingly modern design. Its double-chevron logo refers to the herringbone gears André Citroën manufactured before building cars.
Citroën was taken over by Peugeot in 1976 to form PSA, which merged with Fiat Chrysler in 2021 to create Stellantis. Today the brand concentrates on comfortable, affordable cars and offers electric versions across much of its range. The UK line-up includes the C3, C3 Aircross, C4 and C5 Aircross, along with electric ë-C3, ë-C3 Aircross, ë-C4 and ë-C5 Aircross models, the Berlingo and the tiny Ami. Citroën also emphasises soft, comfortable suspension, with many models using its Progressive Hydraulic Cushions system.
Citroen on a car subscription
Citroen is a good choice for subscribers who prioritise comfort and value. Because many models come in petrol, hybrid and electric form, a subscription is an easy way to try an EV such as the ë-C3, which can suit urban driving and offers low Benefit-in-Kind tax for company car drivers. Check the real-world range against your regular trips, the mileage allowance and what servicing and breakdown cover the provider includes.

Citroen subscriptions: FAQs
Can I get a Citroen on a car subscription in the UK?
Yes. Citroen models are offered by a number of UK subscription and short-lease providers. Availability and lead times vary over time.
Which electric Citroens can I subscribe to?
Electric options include the ë-C3, ë-C3 Aircross, ë-C4 and ë-C5 Aircross. Providers may only carry some of these at any one time.
Is the Citroen Ami available on subscription?
The Ami is a two-seat electric quadricycle rather than a conventional car, so fewer providers offer it. Check speed, range and licence requirements before choosing one.
